Celebrating women's day...

Celebrating women's day... from the place where women were placed before to the place where they are today there is lot o1f improvement in a woman's life.  None can deny that but it does not mean woman has achieved her freedom to the fullest.

She is educated, employed, earning but has she attained her dignity ? Even today we can see people who say that these courses and work are suitable for women...they can't get into any course or work because she has to be responsible in running a family.  Today she serves in military , she serves as a police but I feel women who excel are few. Most women are tied with the responsibility of family maintenance for which she leaves back her dream , her identity.

Even today we hear news of rapes even in girl babies. What kind of society are we living? A woman cannot go out during nights as per her will. She will be raped, murdered, be a victim of acid attack. Even being victim herself only she will be questioned and harassed as why did she go out at night?why did she come alone? Why was her dressing vulgar? All the "wh" questions will be thrown to her inspite of her being victim. The society is not bothered or ashamed about the unsafe situation that it has created for a woman .

She earns her living. She has developed economically but has she achieved economic freedom? She has no freedom to spend her money in the way she wanted especially after marriage even to give a penny to her parents she is being posted with millions of questions by her matrimonial members. This society talks so much about a son's responsibility towards his family all his life and shuts its mouth tight about the responsibilities of woman to her parents after marriage.

The matrimonial homes are places of domestic violence against a woman . She is being put to embarassment with words, she is being burdened with double the work at office, at home ,she suffers deep wounds in her heart with the treatment of in-laws and with all these problems like a ball that raises high each time it is hit hard she tries to overcome her agony and achieve.

Today's modern man unlike traditional men are able to think about women's freedom in terms of their mother, daughter , sister but when it comes to wife their traditional minds wakes up and tries to put her down, dominate her.

And women themselves are in their shell. They like to beautify themselves, they Concentrate on their fairness shade but fail to see they are in dark shade and their freedom is yet a long way.

When socrates of south east asia , periyar was asked about women freedom he told in simple words, the freedom enjoyed by men should also be available to women. He makes it really simple.

With all these problems celebrating women's day as yet another ritual is going to be of no use.

Though miles to be walked by a woman for her freedom may be too long for what she has achieved till date it needs appreciation .

Happy women's day ...

Evolution of Love!!

Love has evolved with the evolution of mankind. As mankind attained maturity in their thoughts through various ages the definition of love also has changed according to the development in the thinking of mankind.

In those days, Love is something that comes at first sight but as days changed this formula of love was subjected to various arguments. These arguments paved a way for the question how could love be at first sight? A person if does not know anything about the opposite sex how could the love be successful in maintaining a relationship till end.

Those days, True Love is something when the people in love has to accept the opinions of the dominant one.(In this case the dominant one were mostly males) But today it has love as evolved in such a way saying that true love is only when the other is able to accept the difference of opinions. Not just look for similarities in each other but to appreciate the differences and love them and accept them as they are!!

Those days, If anyone is in love it was unwritten law that we must speak in phone for hours together, meet almost everyday. But today in this busy world I don’t think talking in phone hours together is possible (may be for the first few months we may have topics to talk. Later it becomes short talks and later just questions of had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meeting daily with the work constraints has almost become dream these days. Meeting each other once a week, once a month has evolved.

Even after all these evolution of love, these phrases of love remains still the same. Love is blind. Falling in love may happen any time with anyone.

These are just my opinions. Please add on your opinions too regarding Evolution of Love!!

Supreme Court Judgment – A share of thought!!

Narendra Kumar Varma – Saveetha case of Divorce has caused severe arguments regarding the judgment given by the Supreme Court judges P.N Agarwal and G.S.Singhvee and J.M Panchal.

Narendra Kumar Varma and Saveetha had lived separately for 16 years. When Narendra Kumar Varma asked for divorce the Supreme Court judges have denied divorce on the grounds that its god’s decision that they must live together and they cannot be given divorce.

I don’t feel this is in anyway justice. As per law, even if a couple live separately for 2 years they can claim divorce. All the judgments given by various district and high courts of various states have followed only this. Now, I don’t understand how can Supreme Court can come up with this judgment? This judgment is not only against law but also against the interest of an individual and this judgment paves way only for superstitious belief.

As per the Indian constitution under fundamental duties 51-A (h) it’s the duty of every citizen to pave the way for the growth of science and scientific knowledge. But the judgment given by the Supreme Court is totally against it.

When compared to all the courts the Supreme Court has more powers. Only because of that it is being called Supreme Court. Sometimes the judgments given by this court is taken even as law. Judgment made by law. With these powers, the Supreme Court instead of giving judgment based on law it has given judgment based on belief. Each one can have any belief. But that should be within the doors of their houses. When the judgment is given it should be purely based on Law.

On what basis does god want them to live together? Court must give a judgment based on law and witness not on belief in god.

If they are saying it is the decision of god that they must live together even after 16 years of separation will the god come as a witness and answer the questions on what basis this decision was made. Has the notice sent to him that he must give explanation for this decision?

Even if Supreme Court gives judgment based on belief of god then won’t the other courts take this an advantage and will they not come up with new way of giving judgments? This judgment is given on the basis of my astrology belief and other things. If these things happen then what is the use of law and rights?

If each judge start writing judgment based on these superstitious beliefs my conscience said this, my god within me asked me to write this judgment then imagine the state of law and court at India.

Even if the well learned judges are not able to give up their superstitious belief that too when a judgment is made what to say about others?

siesta

As it approaches me I close my eyes
A sense of ecstasy seals my core
For it explains actions in no way
Be accomplished in real;
It creates a smile on my face
Making me vigorous as I could witness
All my imaginings turning true,
Packing my being with coolness,
I sense I could leap with joy-But
As I jump, I fall from heights
For it’s a dream in my nap
I am thankful to you my siesta
For at least, with you we can envisage
Our thoughts that can
Never be accomplished in practicality!!

Lovely

“Hello, is it Mrs. Avanthi?”

“Yes, speaking”

“Car no AV 7890 is it your car?”

“Yes, my husband had taken it to office. Any Problem?”

“Mrs. Avanthi …we found the car along the Bay riverside empty. We guess you’re husband has been kidnapped”

“Kidnapped?”

“Do you have suspicion on anyone Mrs. Avanthi?” asked the Mr. Mathur

“Hmmm…. No Mr. Mathur, as far as I know Ravi has no enemies in business life or in his social life. He is an easy-going person.”

“Ok.. Let us try our best. Please do inform us if you suspect someone”

“Yes sure, Inspector”

“Mrs. Avanthi, please can you come over to General Hospital immediately?”

“General Hospital….What happened Mr. Mathur”

“If you could come here and identify…..”

“Identify what… What happened Mr. Mathur?”

“Please Mrs. Avanthi calm down and please come”

“We found a body at the same place where your husband was kidnapped today. The body was mostly burnt”

“What?” Avanthi was about to faint

She was taken inside the mortuary. The white cloth that covered the body was removed

“Avanthi went close to the body. As it was mostly burnt she was not able to identify it. Suddenly she screamed”

“Mrs. Avanthi, are you sure that it is you’re husband’s body?”

“Yes….our wedding ring… she pointed to the ring that was in the left finger of the dead”

It was tenth day after death of Ravi and people who came to console Avanthi were leaving

“Avanthi was all alone. She was just holding the photo of their wedding. Tears rolled down her eyes.

Next day Police found Avanthi lay dead in her room with her wedding photo held close to her. She had taken sleeping pills said the report.

A loud laughter was rising from the old building.

Ravi slowly opened his eyes.

“Ravi, my darling, how sweet of you?” saying so Lovely touched Ravi’s cheeks

“Just shut up Lovely, why is that you have brought me here? Leave me; Avanthi will be waiting for me”

“Avanthi?? She is no more.” said Lovely and laughed once again wildly.

“No more… Means…” Ravi was shattered.

“She committed suicide on her own by taking sleeping pills not able to bear the death of her dear husband Ravi” said Lovely and again laughed aloud

“Stop laughing, you bitch, me dead?? He was confused. He looked at Lovely”

“Avanthi committed suicide that’s what the police say,but it was me who made her drink the milk with sleeping pills” Lovely’s face turned red this time

“What? You murdered my Avanthi? Ravi was shocked”

“Yes, I murdered Avanthi by making the world believe that you were kidnapped and killed and also made the world believe that she committed suicide due to your loss”

Ravi was bewildered. “Why did you do this to your friend ?” asked Ravi

“You were best friends… What made you do this…? Ravi’s words failed him”

“Best friends…yes best friends… I loved you Ravi even before you proposed her, even before you got married, I loved you….But she got you… That’s why I need to do this... Now you’re mine… Now you’re mine...”

Lovely laughed and aloud.

“Loved me… What…?? Never I can be yours … I can never be yours… saying these words Ravi rushed to kill himself.”

“Mr. Ravi, stop” it was Mr. Mathur

Lovely you are under arrest.

“Mrs. Avanthi “called Mr. Mathur

Avanthi came in and she ran and hugged Ravi.

Lovely was shocked.

“How could this happen? I gave her the sleeping pills and left after she was dead”.

“Yes Lovely, you did give Avanthi sleeping pills and left the place thinking she was dead. If you could play a drama so well, you thought we are paid to watch

Criminals like you?

Now, we have recorded all your words and you have no way to escape.

“Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Lovely shouted”

“This can’t happen, this can’t happen… Ravi you are always mine”

Saying so she rushed to the window and jumped out before anyone could stop her

Has caste fully been abolished??

Before some 50-60 years in the name of caste education was abandoned. Even the place of living, drinking water was separate, even at hotels, cinema theatres caste existed. Due to efforts of Leaders caste was abolished to an extent.

But if we see in general we feel that castes have been abolished. But communal clashes exist even today. The worst thing is even today only a particular caste people can be priest.

And still worse is even among educated we could see even in our own Infy BB alliance invited for particular caste boy/girl. And much worse is even when they advertise house for rent as preferred vegetarians, preferred people from this caste only.

Food habits differ, but in our country even the food habits are based on caste and people with such and such food habits considered sacred exist even today even among the educated.

When would things change? If not now then when are we going to change?

Books I read recently

JIn past one week I had read 4 books…. I am amazed at myself

The first book which I finished was
பேரறிஞர் அண்ணாவின் சிறுகதை தொகுப்புகள் (Peraringar Annavin chirugathai thogupugal )

This book was marvelous. The stories were mind blowing and Tamil words usages were extraordinary.

The second book which I finished was
களப்பிரர் ஆட்சியில் தமிழகம்(Kalapirar aatchiyil thamizhagam)

This book denies the fact that Kalpirar period at Tamil nadu was called as “Dark period” in Tamil nadu history. It was only during this period Buddhism and Jainism touched their peak and Hinduism had a fall. Kalapirar were basically kannadigas who ruled tamil nadu for 300 years. Just because Hinduism had its fall during this period it was made as dark period in the history of Tamilnadu. Kalapirars were mainly Jains and also Buddhists were there. Some followed Hinduism too. Also, it says in brief about Srilanka History which is full of cunningness and betrayal. Also, it says that Karnool and Kadapai ( I think the names are right )districts of Andhra Pradesh were ruled by chola Kings who escaped from Kalapirar . They made Telugu as their ruling language. This was found in the archeological evidences. It had been written that they were descendants of Karigala Chozhan.

The third book which I read was 3 mistakes by chetan Bhagat.

This was wonderful story and it explained a young man’s suicide attempt due to the three mistakes in his life. Business, friends, Religion. It also explains the earthquake of Gujarat and the communal clashes that took place between the Hindus and Muslims at Gujarat and how these things had an impact on the young man Govind Patel.

The fourth book which I completed was Darwinism Life history and brief note of his book Origin of species

This book explains the evolution of man and early life of Charles Darwin how he had made his theory Survival of fittest fit and what problems he faced in England when he released his book , how he overcome that. This book is in Tamil.

Hope, to come up with brief reviews of still more books as I finish them reading. Books are indeed good friends and great
Jcompanions.
