Tomorrow I will be hanged... Part - II

“Sarasu”, I shouted . “Where have you brought me?, you moron”, I cried aloud.

But no one came for my rescue..

“Hey, why are you roaring?, saying this Sarasu smacked me

“If my husband come to know about this he will kill you all” I cried knowing very well he will be in his own world of dreams. But I heard a horrible truth from sarasu

She laughed aloud and told me “Poor girl. Your husband and his whole family were the agents. They too belong to this group”

I received the shock of my life. I cursed my parents who without enquiring properly married me to that beast. I would have been happy if I had married Francis. With these thoughts and I fainted.

When I gained consciousness I was at Bombay , the Red light area. I tried to escape from there but….

I refused to obey their instructions. I was left starved.

“Either you need to accept for this or die starving” said Kaliya.

Kaliya was the head there and without his knowledge no girl can escape from that prison of torment. But for the outside world he was a good and an innocent man who was pious and God fearing .

At last, I had to give up my stubbornness. Each day, each night was a suffering for me. I saw human animals feeding on flesh. I found no difference between an animal which feeds on another animal for food and them. As time went, it was time for my delivery.

I gave birth to a baby. Whom to blame? The baby was a girl baby. Kaliya was happy. He told that I had brought in income to him in future by giving brith to a baby girl. I don’t want her to grow in such an environment. I wanted to escape for the sake of her. Each time I plotted a plan , it failed. Now Rachu , my daughter was 1 year old. I somehow wanted to get released from that place.

It was holi. All were playing with colors and I grabbed the time to escape . I took my daughter and escaped from there. I had no idea where to go, I had no money , my daughter was crying in hunger and I had no strength to walk . I had no idea whom to approach ? where to go? Again I don’t want to fall a prey in the hands of any cannibal. So, I decided to go to a police station and ask for help . I enquired the way to Police Station.

Inspector Rajesh heard my whole story.

“Good Anju. You have come here.I appreciate your courage.Let me inform about you to destitute home and you can be safe there”, he said

He asked me to wait and went inside.

Now, he had went to inform Kaliya about my escapism which I came to know later.

“Anju, shouted Kaliya, I was shocked to see him there”

“You dog..How dare?” he slapped me

“Leave me Kaliya, I don’t want to come that place again. Atleast let my daughter be happy.” I begged him.

I saw the Inspector smiling at Kaliya.

An idea flashed in me. I pushed Kaliya with all my force and took the pistol from Inspector..

1…2…3. I shot Kaliya.

Inspector came rushing towards me shouting in rage.

I shot him too. I don’t want such officers to live who were never true to their job.

I was arrested and was accused of killing an innocent man Kaliya and sincere Inspector Rajesh. Law turned a deaf ear to me.

Tomorrow I will be hanged. I am never sorry for what I have done. I never repented for my action. But my purpose why I had killed those animals was never fulfilled.

My daughter will be an orphan after my death.

I don’t want her to be in the hands of another Kaliya.

Tomorrow I will be hanged...

Tomorrow I will be hanged... Part - I

I am Anju. Today, I am behind the bars counting my days in Prison .Tomorrow I will be hanged. I have been accused as a murderer.

A murderer !! I murdered two animals. Yes, I murdered human animals. But not for the reason that had been recorded in the pages of judgment. Before, I could say why I had killed them? I need to say happenings in my life that had brought me to the doorstep of death in the house of prison.

I was in my teens. I fell in love with a guy .His name was Francis, he was a nice person. He worked in a mill near my home. He had so much care for me. Soon, both our parents came to know of our affair. As usual my parents did not accept our love saying that he was from a different religion. My parents searched a guy for me , sorry a monster for me and married me to him within few months. On the day when I started to my husband’s home I saw Francis with tears in his eyes. That was the last time I ever saw him in my life. Seldom, did I know that my happiness in life too ended.

Few days after my marriage my husband’s true color was seen. He was a drug addict, drinker, chain smoker, an ardent fan of horses, an addict to cards. Yes, he had all the habits that would make a home a torture. I fought with him asking for money to run the family for which he never bothered but whipped me.

I was finding it difficult to continue my life, when another being was growing inside me. Yes, I was pregnant. I was finding it difficult to run the family. I had no strength to bear a child said doctor. When I told my in-laws, they replied,

“Abort the first baby? No way.”

I had no go other than to bear the child.

This was when I met Sarasu. She came as my neighbor. She told she will get me a job. I was happy for the fact at least I can eat some nutritious food before my delivery. It was Sunday. She asked me to get ready. She told her Boss had come hometown and she would introduce me to him and he would give me some job. I went with her. My ever biggest blunder in my life.

The person to whom Sarasu took me was a man who sell young girls and ladies to Bombay. Sarasu was an agent of him...

Kamalu

“Amma I feel very hungry, at least today will you provide me with food?”Kamalini asked her mother.

“Kamalu kutti today you adjust with water, tomorrow I will ask father to get you food for sure”said Radhika in an affectionate tone to her daughter.

“You always say this. But you never provide me food at all. I am hungry.”

“I need food… I need food… I need food … cried Kamalini which irritated Radhika

“Kamalu your are not a child. You know the situation and earnings of your father. With this you need to adjust.”

“We are not rich…she sobbed..”

“Amma why we are not rich” asked Kamalu innocently

“We don’t have money”replied Radhika

“Why we don’t have money?” asked Kamalu again

“Your father is not educated or neither me,We can’t go to a big job to earn more and provide you with food”replied Radhika

“Why we are not educated?” asked Kamalu again

“We are not educated because its our fate” said Radhika

“What is fate Amma?” asked Kamalu

“Fate…God writes it in your head” replied Radhika

“Why he writes good for some and bad for some? You say, all are his children, why is he so partial with his children?” asked Kamalu

“If you pray God with all your heart, then he will give all you need” said Radhika

“Where should we pray god?” asked Kamalu

“In temple” replied Radhika

“In temple?”

She looked at Radhika. “Amma I found why God is not giving us riches?”

Radhika was surprised. She asked, “why?”

“Simple. Because we don’t go inside the temple. We just pray him from outside. Tomorrow we need to go in Amma. Then he will give us riches”

Radhika smiled at her daughter.

“We are not allowed to go inside Kamalu. If we go inside and touch God , he will die. We are not supposed to touch him”

Kamalu thought for a while and laughed aloud, saying

“Amma,if God dies by my touch , then I am greater than him.I have more strength than him.I can erase his bad writing on my head”

Radhika had no answer. She stammered when they heard a voice saying,

“Yes you can erase his writing on your head, if you go to school , study well, get a good job”said Mari who was standing smiling , overhearing the intelligent conversation of his daughter.

Vinay

“Anna, I am so hungry, please give me at least that bread” asked Vinay to they tea shop owner.

Hearing his voice owner looked at him. He frowned at him saying, “What!!, you need bread? Go,go away from here.”

Vinay was very hungry he went through the streets begging. But everywhere he was thrown out and was scolded in a filthy language. He had no hope to survive as he was losing his strength slowly. He walked through the road like a dead with his thoughts of his past.

Vinay was studying in eighth std. Both his parents were working as a teacher in the same school. He had a younger sister studying in fifth std. Few days before, he could sense some changes within him. His mother too found out and all her happiness vanished away. They were very happy when Vinay was born as their first child . But now…

She always scolded him asking him not to mingle with any of them at school for she was frightened of this society ,her neighbors. Vinay’s father too knew about his recent changes and he saw him as a ridiculous being on earth. Vinay was affected by changes of his parents towards him. But his sister Rani, always continued to be the same loving sister to him. He took this decision to come out of the house two days before when he heard his parents conversing, thinking he was asleep.

“Latha, we cant have Vinay with us for long time. We cant hide from this society his changes in attitude , his voice , his actions. We have a daughter too. Will anyone marry her if they come to know that her brother is…?” he stopped.

Latha was little upset. But she accepted for her husband’s plan to take Vinay to Exhibition and miss him there all with their knowledge. On hearing this Vinay’s eyes filled with tears. He was shattered to pieces. Was this his mistake? But thinking of his loving sister , whom he wanted to be happy he left home that night.

Vinay was walking with his head bent down with these thoughts in his mind. He was very thirsty. He went near a pipe where few men were pumping water. He asked them for water. They with Vinay’s attitude made fun of him.

One fellow stretched a glass of water to him. Before Vinay could take a sip he snatched it from him and laughed loudly. All the men joined him. They made a round with Vinay in the middle and was making fun of him. Vinay with his hunger and thirst at its peak shouted wildly. He scratched their faces in anger. Frightened they allowed him to drink water.

He understood the way of living in this society!!

Transgender , we have come across such people in our society. The way in which the society treats them avoiding them is the cause that sometimes we see them behave in an arrogant manner.

Society denies them, denies education, no way to earn ,the only way for them to live is to implant fear in the minds of people about them and get the money and meet their needs. In many films they just show them as people who have no feelings, just for fun. The way in which the society treats them must change.

The change in hormones causes this problem and they can in no way overcome this. We must understand their feelings . Respecting them as human beings and providing them education and considering their well being is the way through which we can bring them from their present state of living. Except for the hormonal imbalance that causes this change they are humans with pain , joy , and feelings.

Ravi

“No, I can’t bear with these non-sense anymore, You take him away from me.It’s so disgusting and embarrassing to introduce him as my son.!!

Hearing these words from her husband Raj , Radha was shocked.

“Disgusting!!??”

“Raj, but he is our son. Is it his mistake? It was there in your heredity already. Even after doctor’s warning you wanted it just because he was a male baby. Now you call him disgusting?”

“Yes, It’s my mistake. So I need to rectify it. We can put him in some orphanage where they take care of these special children. We can pay them for his boarding ,education , clothing, food ,everything. But let him not be here anymore”

“Orphanage!!??”

“No, Raj I can never allow this to happen till I am alive”.

“Then you too go along with him. I can no more tolerate this”

Radha was shocked. She looked at their son Ravi. He was 5 years old ,he is a special child. He is a mentally retarded child.

“How can I leave you for the sake of my well-being?”she asked herself looking into the eyes of her son.

“No , I can never do that.” with a stubborn look she looked at her husband

“Raj, I will go out with Ravi, and for your information we never need your support. I am educated and I can earn myself to bring my son”, saying these words she took her son in her hands and walked out of her house without waiting for Raj words.

“Amma, you have come out leaving father for my sake, though I cant speak and make you understand, I can feel. I can understand the sufferings and pain you are undergoing . Father is not interested to have me with him because of my inability to understand things. But, you are great Amma. You have told him that you can bring me up alone. How am I going to pay for this?”

Ravi though could not express his feeling, these thoughts were running within him. His eyes were filled with tears.

In our day to day life we may come across children with mental retardation. Mental retardation is a developmental disability that is marked by lower-than-normal intelligence and limited daily living skills. Mental retardation is normally present at birth or develops early in life. It is mainly cause by four factors: heredity, prenatal problems, childhood illnesses, and environmental factors. As far as possible we must prevent such children being born by precautionary measures.

But, if born let us not hurt them and leave them aside. They have feelings but only thing is that they cannot express it. If we can show them unconditional love and support they can be taught to leave independently except for few cases where IQ level is very low but that’s a negligible percent.

Here, Ravi had his mother Radha to support him. For many children, they are need in of a support. Let us try to support them and love them.

World Of Light!! - Just a share of thought!!

“Amma, how are you?” asked Sumathy as Santha entered her room

“Yes ,dear I am fine”

“Amma, thanks for taking care of me so well”

“Oh!! Its my duty darling”

“Am I not a burden to you Amma?”

“Burden?...”

“You?...”

“To me?...”

“Well, never my kid”

“Amma, when will I be able to see you? When I will be able to see this world?”

“When I will be able to see the flowers in our garden? The stars in the sky that glitter at night, the waves of the deep blue sea?”

“When will I be able to see them?”

“When will I be able to see father? Everything around me is dark”

“I am frightened of it mother”

“Oh!! My darling never care…”

“You can see this world through me, till you come to world of light…”

“I will guide you dear.. don’t worry”

“But, Amma when will I see the world of light?”

“Soon..very soon dear” saying these words Santha hugged her child Sumathy close to her. Sumathy had lost her eyes few months back in an accident.

She was hoping that one day someone might donate her darling their eyes for her to see the world again.

Death is inevitable. Even after death we can see this world through someone. Instead of burying them for them to decay without any use to anyone let us donate eyes and bring in light in lives of people who are longing to see this world.

March 8th International women’s day!!

March 8th International women’s day!!

The very thought that we celebrate International women’s day makes me think that we are not still matured in our thinking. The reason for that is, every being on earth have gender in them as male and female. But we cannot find any gender discrimination among animals or birds except in the species of homo sapiens. Its nature’s law that both the gender is responsible for the continuity of species in this world.

Then, where from this gender discrimination comes into picture in human beings alone? Except for few changes in the anatomical structure the rest is same for both the gender.

But still, in all aspects the female gender are considered to be always a step low then male gender. Even though, today women have been educated to an extent and were successful in excelling in every field this discrimination is still more today.

In European countries, when they refer to women they refer them as,

“But what is woman?

Just another nature’s acceptable blunder!!”

How cruel!?

Without this acceptable blunder the continuity of species will never proceed. Actually, the greatest strength of a woman to carry the continuity of species is made as her weakness.

Today though the scenario in those countries have changed, when we come to our country, still any religion never respects women as a being who have her own likes and dislikes.

As per Manu which is considered as the basis of Hindu Religion , it says,

By a girl, by a young woman, or even by an aged one, nothing must be done independently, even in her own house.
In childhood a female must be subject to her father, in youth to her husband, when her lord (husband) is dead to her sons;
a woman must never be independent. She must not seek to separate herself from her father, husband, or sons;
by leaving them she would make both her own and her husband's families contemptible.
Code of Manu 5:147-49

As per Islam, a man’s evidence is equal to evidence of two women. Its because women never have tendency to tell the fact.

As per, Christianity a woman has no rights to do her abortion. In the catholic country Ireland this is the situation.

Any religion concentrates on suppressing the women and denying her rights. Well the reason for this these books were written by men. Even today they are treated as just another commodity.

Even educated women never think of their rights . They are happy with these chains of slavery. They have the notion that beauty gives confidence. They must come out of this illusion. Something which will fade in the years to come can never be a source of confidence. Self confidence gets implanted only when women are educated and have the power to reason out.

They are not ready to think and come out of these unnecessary hurdles fearing the society.

As women’s day pledge, each women need to understand her rights, her role in the society, her need of establishing her identity in this society.

An Iran poet, in his poem to his wife he asked her,

“ Till you prove yourself, never cover your face with Pardha”.

Women need to understand that no one will give her the rights. Its her birth right and she must on no account let her to be dominated. Not even in the name of love and affection should a women lose her identity. If she is clear with her role in the society then the nation would excel on better pace.

As, Jawaharlal Nehru rightly said, "a country is judged by the standard of its women-folk...."

Let’s not make women’s day just an occasion to be celebrated, for the sake of celebrating it!!

you can rescue me!!!

In deep waves of your glance,
I lose my sense and stance
For your sharp look pierced my core
powerless to battle your power of love
My being snivel for your concern
For, your love warmth only can shelter me
from pain and pang to elation and delight!!
Oh my beloved!!
Can you heed to my cries?
For only you can rescue me!!!

Along the lonely road...

Along the lonely road of darkest night

I march with thoughts of you;

trees whimper for my solitude ;

birds whine for my forlorn;

As I gaze at the moon shining bright,

As I watch the stream flowing gently its way,

My being laments loud, for you to be close to me;

My heart torn apart, Cries for your pat,

Reminding me your gorgeous look;

When I stare into your eyes,

Reminding your smile that mesmerizes me

I go in hunt for those valued moments

I go in hunt for those cherished seconds

Which will haunt me forever!!

Along the lonely road

I march with thoughts of you
