Atheism - Way Of Life!!

An atheist – Non-believer. Someone who denies the existence of god or supreme intelligent Being.

World had come across such people in the past, we have many with us at present and people who deny the existence of god will live even in the ages to come.

According to them, God is just an imaginary concept born out of the fear. At later point of time we could realize that god was used as a weapon to menace the innocent mass to keep them scared about life by some set of people for their own benefits. This concept of god is the root cause for various superstitious, irrational and illogical thinking which at times make people to get into barbarian act of sacrifices in the name of god –even one’s own child.

There are people who believe in supreme power who controls this universe as one who keeps record of every person sin and punish them during their judgment day. But with these, can we strongly tell that this keep a man out of offense fearing the judgment day. The answer would be obvious No!!

Older days , religion and religious chief had more authority and anyone who went against the words written in holy book they were not spared. The history can provide you with many such examples. For instance, Galileo's championing of Copernicanism was controversial within his lifetime. The geocentric view had been dominant since the time of Aristotle, and the controversy engendered by Galileo's opposition to this view resulted in the Catholic Church's prohibiting the advocacy of heliocentrism as potentially factual, because that theory had no decisive proof and was contrary to the literal meaning of Scripture. Galileo was eventually forced to recant his heliocentrism and spent the last years of his life under house arrest on orders of the Inquisition.


Well, when we come to India, it is a land with blend of cultures , languages, traditions , religion ,caste etc.

Each religion follows and boast about their god to be supreme and deny the strength and power of the god in other religion . Till now, this is the root cause for violence and terror. Even with one religion we have several god forms , numerous caste, sub-caste. Atheists, have no enmity with god or any charge against him. It’s just they don’t believe in caste , don’t believe in religion , don’t believe in scriptures which segregates the people making them unequal. If we need to wipe out these things we need to destroy the concept of god which is the basis of these theory and separation. It’s as simple as that.

If we ask is it god who created this world? they say, yes. If yes, why does he create with so much of inequalities. One enjoys life and the others don’t. Even in gender the male gender is supreme. Why is that we have inequality and intolerance? When these questions arises without delay answer is ,it all depends on the sin you committed during previous birth. For argument point of view, let us accept it depends on sin, but why is that god allows a person to commit sin? It is said ,god is within an individual, won’t he warn the person? Well , the answer is, he warns but still the person never listens . Why is that his warning not so powerful to change the mind of an individual? And the most common answer is that he always loves to check his devotees by these drama. Think he has no work?! If god is within each and every individual why is that not all humans are not respected equally? We have discriminations based on riches, based on labor, based on color of the skin and the worst of all , discrimination by birth. What is he doing when people are tormented and killed based on these discriminations? He could not save himself these days, it’s highly impossible to expect he would save the sufferers? Concept of god is used a way of escapism these days! Even George Bush justified his stand on Iraq by saying that his god ordered him to do so. How cruel the god must be!!??


Well , these questions apart. When Periyar was asked “you say there is no god, what would you do if he appears before you?”

Periyar instantly answered “well I would publicize his existence, it’s a simple stuff. But the problem is ,he is not appearing before me”.

Well , we had many avatars of god taking human forms. What happened to them? God is busy these days? If we ask the believers with this doubt, they at once come out with an answer “Kali muthidichu”. Well, what is that god was doing till it had become ripe? We have other set of people propagating god will come here on earth and take the people who fear him along with him by 2000. Still is he travelling down?

Whatever the concept of god and other stuff related it’s all up to an individual to believe it or not.

According to me as far as concept of atheism is concerned it’s a beautiful way of life. No worry or nervousness , no celebration in name of god and no wastage of money , no superstitions , no fighting, no hatred. It’s just each and every religion denies the power of god in another religion but atheists deny the existence of god on the whole. That’s the difference. It’s a life of reasoning and analysis . It’s a life where people are aware, whatever happens is the result of our attitude. We disagree with anything called as luck, our mind never relate anything of stars and human life. Never worried about future. Just we live for the present. Our only idiom is humanism. Love your fellow beings whom you see around you as you love yourself. Then you can love the god whom you can never ) see if at all he/she exists. (again the controversy starts

Instead of thinking about god just think about human beings and their sufferings and respect them. It is essential and which has to be followed in today’s world of violent behavior and demarcation.
