Kamini - Part II

At Chennai

Kamini was astonished with huge buildings, heavy traffic and people who always kept moving busy. She had no idea whom to approach and where to go. She was feeling hungry . With few thousand rupees she stole from home, she was not sure how long that would help her. She had her lunch in a small hotel. As she was having her lunch, she enquired to the person near her regarding cinema studios. The person replied that she was at Kodambakam and she can go to VAM studio . She had her lunch quickly and enquired her way to VAM studio. She reached the studio but was stopped at the gates of studio by the guard.

“You should not get inside. You need some recommendation letter. Do you know someone? if not, you can’t enter”

Kamini did not know what to do and stood there for a long time just staring at the gates and the guard. Just then an elderly man approached her. He was in his white pant and white shirt with a small bag under his arm. He was chewing betel leaves and his teeth was painted red.

“Why are you standing here? What you want? Whom do you want to meet?” he enquired Kamini.

Kamini told her desire to become heroine and how she left her home in order to pursue her dreams.

Elderly man introduced himself as Kannan an agent, who introduces heroes and heroines into cinema.

“Have you seen Asin in films?” asked Kannan to Kamini.

“yeah” said Kamini

“I only introduced her into films”

He was discussing about all the famous heroes and heroines from different languages and was boasting that only he introduced them all.

Kamini was very happy.

“Anna, I think I am very lucky to meet you, please show me a way to be a heroine and act in films. I wanted to become rich. I need to show my parents that my desire brought me success and did not ruin my life.”

“Don’t worry Kamini, I will make u a star. Already, you are half successful in your career by meeting me. Leave the rest to me”

“Anna can I get a house for rent?”

“Oh, that’s not a problem but it will take some amount of money to be spent.”

“Anna, I have money she gave her few thousand rupees to Kannan. He took them in his hands and gave her a broad smile .
